BIRTHDAY Art Parties!

Celebrate your child’s birthday or any other special occasion with an art twist at an SAA party! Perfect for children ages 6 to 12 years old, parents may select from one of six creative and educational art projects each designed with fun in mind.

Based on availability, parties are offered on Saturdays from 2:00-3:30 and Sundays from 12:00-1:30 and 2:30-4:00. The first hour of the party will be an instructor guided art project followed by cake, drinks, etc. provided by the parent or caregiver during the last half hour.

Cost for SAA members is $250. (non-member fee is $300) for up to 12 children (in addition to the birthday child) and $18 for each additional child with a maximum of 15 children. 

Please note, parties are not offered during the summer months of July and August due to staffing and space restrictions.

Somerset Art Association will provide:

• An art teacher assisted by an aide.
• Art materials appropriate for the selected party theme
• Tablecloths and balloons.
• A one-time $5. gift certificate to be used towards an SAA student art class or membership for each child’s goody bag.

Parent or caregiver will provide:

• Birthday cake, drinks, candles, paper plates & cups, utensils, napkins and goody bags.
• Parent or caregiver will be expected to remain at the party.

Choose one from the following themes:

SQUISH!

Birthday guests will sculpt and decorate their own clay creatures. Materials include self hardening clay, acrylic paint, feathers, googly eyes, pipe cleaners and gem stones.

PAINT LIKE VAN GOGH!

Birthday guests will have fun creating a Van Gogh style painting on canvas board using acrylic paint and brushes. Recommended for ages 8 +.

BE-JEWELED!

Birthday guests will string their own necklaces and bracelets
using a variety of beads, shiny gem stones and string. They will also
decorate their own jewelry box. Recommended for ages 7 +.

BLAST OFF! 

Birthday guests will ”blast into outer space” with a rocket ship they create using paper tubes, tissue paper, markers, foil and glitter.

PRINTMAKING PLUS!

Birthday guests will create a series of little masterpieces using the age-old technique of printmaking. They will make fun cards and one-of-a-kind pieces using ink, rollers, glitter and colorful paper.

HOLIDAY BIRTHDAY!

If your child’s birthday is near a major holiday, (i.e. Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Halloween etc.) the project can be designed around this celebration.
